Evan Rachel Wood Reveals Her Bisexuality

Last week Evan Rachel Wood opened up to New York magazine about her failed relationship with Marilyn Manson … and this week she opens up to Esquire magazine about her sexuality. ERW reveals to the magazine that she considers herself bisexual … she is into both “nice guys” and “nice girls”. Read on for more [...]

Last night David and I hung out with a group of friends last night that included Cara — who we hadn’t hung out with in ages — and Shane & Jordan, who we always make sure to spend time with when we’re in the city. We convened for dinner at The Smith in the East Village and then made our way to Splash Bar for Musical Monday. We had a blast, primarily because we were in such great company.

Cara is my girl who I’ve known for years but we realized that it had been FAR too long since we hung out together here in the city. Last night was our chance to remedy the fact that we hadn’t seen one another in a while and we picked up as if no time had passed. Shane is one of David’s BFFs so we always make sure to spend time with him here in the city … and randomly, we always run into Jordan here in NYC when we happen to be here. I have to tell you, I am a very lucky person. I know the coolest people in the world and I feel so blessed to count them as friends. That Cara and I can pick up after a few years as if no time has passed is just so wonderful. And there are few people in the world that make me as happy as Jordan does. We ate, we drank and were very merry here last night so … it was a very good night.

Tonight, David and I will be seeing Catch Me If You Can on Broadway. Catch Me stars Kerry Butler, who I met when she was starring in Xanadu and LOVED in Rock of Ages. I am very excited to see her in this new show. It’s supposed to be rainy tonight but I don’t think anything can dampen my spirits today. Happy Tuesday, y’all!!

Justin Bieber, who is like an angel fallen from heaven to bless us pitious humans here on Earth with his blessed presence, was photographed just moments after he awoke from gentle slumber while vacationing in Miami, FL. Other photos from this particular morning have been making the blog rounds but those photos feature Biebs in his underwear … which I am not really comfortable posting here. The photos below feature the just awoken lamb in his PJ sweat pants. Enjoy.

Try not to lose your minds, Beliebers … I know the sight of your idol shirtless is enough to drive some of you crazy. I think these photos are just hilar … I mean, yes, we all look like this when we wake up (tho some of us do have post-pubescent body hair) but it’s kinda funny to see a wee popstar like Justin Bieber lookin’ so fresh-faced first thing in the morning. I’d be very curious to know if Biebs plans on having his girlfriend Selena Gomez over for a sleep over. I guess we’ll have to wait and see … tho, the sight of both Justin and Selena first thing in the morning might be much too much to see. HMMM.

Music Mixing Software Make Your Own Beats Without Breaking The Bank!

Which was the best rock music decade? It's obviously unfair to make a definitive statement on this subject, as it's completely subjective to the reader's taste, but we can trace some of the landmark changes the movement set through the years, maybe learn something in the process, and choose the one we like the best. Rock music is in fact a derivation of rockabilly, or rock & roll music (e.

Which Is Your Favorite Rock Decade?

With a name like "rockabilly" it's no surprise that the early rockers also made a splash in the country charts of the 1950s. After all, the "billy" part of the name comes from the fact that country music of that era was often called "hillbilly music" and many of the early rockabilly performers came from backgrounds heavily influenced by country music. Often they had played country before turning to rockabilly, but in virtually all cases, they grew up with country music (along with blues, R&B, and gospel music) all around them. It's also not surprising then that many of the early rockabilly songs found their way up toward the top of both the pop and country charts.

A Little Bit About Pianos

Have you ever read a biography of any rock star? When ever you read through their biographies you will see that they did not earn fame overnight. Years of hard work was done in order to achieve that level of success. For most of these musicians they have practiced for years and years in order to master the techniques. Every successful musician had a dream, when he or she were a child, to become a musician or rock star. If you are one that has such a dream and want to learn the art of guitar then you must practice the techniques with discipline. A guitar lesson on line can be an great source of tuition. There are a number of websites that will provide you with different types and level of lessons. The only thing you have to do is find one that suits you.

Getting A Guitar Lesson Online: The Growing Pastime

Although television had been around for much longer (having been invented in the 1920s based off of work and research that started as far back as the latter half of the 1800s), it wasn't until the late 1940s that people really started gaining access to the technology in their homes. In the 1950s, television usage began to explode and the TV started becoming more and more a part of the modern home. This surge couldn't have happened at a better time for rock and roll and many of the earliest rockabilly stars performances have luckily been preserved forever on video tape.

The Reason Why Every Music Artist May Want to Choose Dirty South Beats

If there were only one African instrument that could define African music, that instrument would have to be a percussion instrument. Percussion is the ground of being for almost all African music. The original aim of African music was to both aid the community in everyday affairs and bring the people together for meetings and ritual events. Therefore, in African music, participation is essential, and, because percussion is most easily relatable to all members of the community, the percussion section became the centerpiece. This article outlines the more common types of African percussion instruments.

Discover the Benefits of Drumming Workshops

Linux still hasn't reached the point where a techno-phobe can run a system successfully without outside help, but frankly I'm not convinced Windows can do that either. Although setting up Linux can be a serious undertaking, depending on the hardware and software you intend to use, the day-to-day running on a well constructed system can often be simpler and more powerful than any Windows PC or Macintosh.

Todd Is God The Music of Todd Rundgren

Ronnie Lane was born in the poor East End of London in 1946. His father who doted on him advised he should learn to play a musical instrument "then you will always have a friend" were his words. Ronnie was given an old ukulele which he played as a small boy at the local bus terminal to earn a few coins of pocket money, then as a teenager he played with other local teen musicians which included Kenny Jones who would later join him in the Small Faces and the Faces before becoming the replacement drummer with The Who...

What Is House Music?

Most people--even those who don't know anything about rockabilly--know the song "Blue Suede Shoes". The song was written by "The Godfather" of rockabilly, Carl Perkins who released it on Sun Records. The song (which was the first million-selling record released on Sun Records) reached #2 on the pop charts, but almost served as Perkins' eulogy when he was severely injured in an auto accident while touring in support of it.

Jacob Lusk Sent Packing on American Idol

We say goodbye to Jacob Lusk tonight, as he was the latest contestant on American Idol to get voted off the show. It really wasn’t a surprise since many, myself included, have felt that in recent weeks he just has not impressed as much as he did at the beginning of the season. No doubt he will probably secure some sort of gospel/R&B recording contract though, so no worries all you Jacob fans! In addition to finding out just who would be sent home, we saw AI judge Jennifer Lopez perform her hit ‘On The Floor’, (which Mamacita rocked of course) and heard Lady Antebellum’s latest single, ‘Just a Kiss’ — another sweet ballad. So here’s how it went down…We first saw James Durbin asked by Ryan to stand at the far right side of the stage. He had great performances last night with his take on ‘Closer to the Edge’ by 30 Seconds to Mars and the very emotional ‘Without You’, tears and all. Lauren Alaina was next, who also had solid performances with Carrie Underwood’s ‘Flat on the Floor’ and ‘Unchained Melody’. She was sent to the opposite end of the stage, which left me a bit confused [...]

We are still about 4 months away from the release of The Muppets movie but the final one sheet poster for the film has already been released. Now, I’m not sure what makes a “one-sheet poster” special but I suspect it refers to a “main poster” (ie. with multiple characters) as opposed to individual “character posters”. My guess is that there will be more Muppets movie posters to come … but as far as one-sheets go, today we get to see the final one below.

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. With secret, signature, celebrity cameos, “The Muppets” hits the big screen Nov. 23, 2011.

These posters with all the Muppets crammed together are really fun. I’m enjoying the posters and the trailers seem clever … but, man, I hope the movie is good. I will be SO BUMMED if it turns out to be a crappy film. I have faith, tho, that it will turn out well … at least, I really really really hope so.

We're still bummed that Kenneth Branagh won't be directing the sequel, but it looks like they may have found a worthy replacement!

Last month, we heard that Disney and Marvel Studios were moving forward with Thor 2, which is already scheduled for release on July 26, 2013.

Now, we've learned that Game of Thrones director Brian Kirk is in "early talks" to direct the Thor sequel.

Others being considered for Thor 2 if things don't work out with Kirk include Cabin in the Woods director Drew Goddard, Ninja Assassin's James McTeigue, 300: Battle of Artemesia's Noam Murro, and The Crazies' Breck Eisner.

Who would U like to see behind the camera for Thor 2? Is the Game of Thrones director right for the job?

"A heartless dictator finds he's been mutinied against by his number two man and replaced in power by an unsuspecting sheepherder lookalike. (Sacha will be playing dual roles). As he wanders the streets, he finds himself in an organic food store and meets the owner (Anna Faris). Her character will show the dictator a new way of life and perhaps a little romance!"

How To End A Piece Convincingly

There is no questioning that David Bowie is one of the greatest musical personas not only of his time but of the century. He penetrated the music scene in 1969 when his song Space Odessy conquered the UK hitcharts. There was just something about that song that makes it linger through time. Despite the fact that it was brooding, it exuded much melody that was still upbeat.

After missing the show on Broadway, David and I were very excited to learn that the Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage was being performed here in LA with the original Broadway cast — Marcia Gay Harden, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Jeff Daniels. We waited for a performance where we could get really good tickets so that is why we waited until the show nearly ends its run to see it. The show ends performances here in LA this weekend … but we managed to get really good seats for our show. In short, we both loved God of Carnage very much … and we were very surprised at how the drama unfolded on stage ;)

I think it’s best that I not spoil the parts of the show that surprised us the most … but I will tell you that the play is very funny and not at all really dramatic. The acting was superb by all of the players and the story is simple on the surface but fairly complex underneath. I knew the basic premise of the play before seeing the show last night but I was NOT at all expecting it to turn out the way it did. There were parts of the show that were so riotously funny, I almost fell out of my chair. There was another part that almost had me running for cover (we were in the front row). God of Carnage is a fantastic play … one I heartily recommend wholeheartedly. If you get the chance to see it with the original Broadway cast, you MUST! I’m sorry I missed seeing it on Broadway but am very happy that I got to experience the same Broadway magic, with the same players, right here at home in LA.

Some novice guitar players are surprised to find that many songs can be played with just three or four open chords, and some songs don?t use more than two. If you can learn the open chords, which ones work well together, and how to switch between them smoothly, you?ll be well on your way. It?s helpful to remember that complementary chords often contain some of the same notes; if you can leave a finger or two in place when forming a new chord, it will be much easier.

The Great Musician Mozart

Have you taken notice that Weddings are becoming much different now a days? I've been a DJ for over 10 years and I've noticed that the way I use to play music at weddings is changing more so, for the reason that it seems people have become less patient. I've took notice that the traditional 4 to 5 hour ceremony and reception is taking a new form:, the Wedding Ceremonies are becoming shorter and more personal instead of the traditional vows for the Bride and the Groom, the huge lavish Bridal Party, the Official (Pastor) reading the vows...
